On July 15, 2025, a unique event took place in Kraków, combining a passion for new technologies, a desire to do good, and the need for collaboration. The Relevate Hackathon #TechForGood, organized by the Hearty Foundation in cooperation with Relativity, was an intense day of creative activity, where participants tackled real social and technological challenges.
The event marked the finale of the Relevate project, which aims to support young people in finding their career path in the IT industry. Participants, both from the Relevate program and teams submitted by partner organizations, worked in groups of 3–4, developing ideas linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
- Goal 4: Quality Education
- Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
- Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities
Three challenges, one goal: creating positive change
Teams faced three strategic challenges prepared by the Hearty Foundation and Relativity:
1. Future Work for Everyone
How can we support young people at risk of exclusion in gaining digital skills, identifying their strengths, and finding their place in the future job market?
2. Seamless Communication
How can communication and collaboration within companies be improved so that employees truly understand each other, without being overwhelmed by information overload?
3. Employee Development Without Burnout
How can continuous learning be made accessible and motivating, without increasing employee stress?
Under the guidance of mentors from Relativity and the Hearty Foundation, participants learned to develop ideas, work under time pressure, and effectively present their projects to the jury.
1st Place Winners – SkillTree Platform
This year’s hackathon was won by the team tackling the first challenge. Their project, SkillTree, is a platform that helps young people from small towns choose the right career path. The solution combines elements of career guidance, digital skills development, and direct contact with employers.
The jury praised the comprehensiveness and innovation of their idea, as well as the high level of their presentation – which was entirely conducted in English, just like all presentations at our event!
Congratulations to the team: Maksymilian Zych, Wiktoria Ratajczak, and Marta Musioł!
In second place were the creators of the project addressing the third challenge, Employee Development Without Burnout – the e-learning application CosmosQuest, which supports gamified professional development among employees.
Congratulations to the team: Ola Pażdzio, Kamil Joachimiak, and Ola Rakowska!
The third-place winning project was Strider, addressing the challenge of seamless team communication. Strider is an AI system that helps identify duplicate projects or tasks within a company.
Congratulations to the team: Natalia Raczkowska, Monika Wrona, Jan Reza, and Rafał Szmajser.
A Day Full of Energy and Inspiration
The hackathon was not just about competition, but above all about exchanging experiences, learning, and team building. Thanks to workshops, mentoring, and expert support, participants:
- developed digital and teamwork skills,
- learned how to deliver effective pitches,
- received participation certificates,
- competed for a prize pool worth 3,000 PLN!
More Than Just an Event
For many participants, this was their first-ever hackathon and, we hope, the beginning of a continued journey in the world of technology. Initiatives like this prove that technology can be a tool for real social change, and young people are its most important creators!
